I'm Singing The Holiday Blues...

I think I have the holiday blues. Or something. Is there such a thing? Whatever. The Holiday Hangover? Okay, sure. So maybe it's because I'm Jewish so present giving time is over. (JK, my Channukah bush is alive and thriving... with chain saws that my parents are using to take it down) Or maybe because on a family "vacation" everyone in my family (Mom, Dad, both sisters) except me got sick. Including my grandparents who we were visiting.
OR MAYBE IT'S BECAUSE SCIENCE FAIR IS RUINIFICATING MY LIFE (and hanging over my head like a noose). Or maybe because I needed to post something new before the spellings of *ThatJewishHoliday* got to my head. So..... To those of you who are having a better holiday than I am, or those of you who aren't but just don't complain as much as I do.....
HAPPY *NewyearseveChristmasWhatevs* HOLIDAY!
XOXO, luv ya bunches! (and branches!..... like mistletoe branches..... ;-)

Anyways if you cant decide please just pick one. Or two. What ever. Happy ----------!!! Hope you gets lots of presents but especially you should remember we are celebrating this holiday because once again someone who wasn't Jewish tried to wipe us out, but yet again we prevailed. (Ha) So that is the REAL reason.

A Little Introduction Please?

*SPOILER ALERT*
So--- I realize in all my griping about writing about what I was actually supposed to write which were very numerous (once)
I never actually explained my book. Or gave a summary. Or ANYTHING. Sooooo yeah here it is my synopsis. (And yeah they call me the queen of big words. Actually they don't. but they do call DD that so....)
HERE I AM NOT PROCRASTINATING!!! I AM JUST GOING TO FIND MY  (@*#$(*% BOOK AND STARTING WRITING ABOUT IT. OK. Yeah. So. Here. It. Is.

Summer of My German Soldier- Bette Greene

Cast of Characters:
Girl (protagonist): Patty
Nazi: Anton
Dad
Mom
Patty's Sister: Sharon
Housekeeper: Ruth
Reporter: Charlene
(clearly their are more characters but they aren't that important to the flow of the story)

Patty is the main character. She is twelve. She is also Jewish. She has virtually no friends except her housekeeper Ruth. Her mother is a not a very loving person and is very bitter, and her dad beats her at the smallest provocation. Her little sister of course is perfect in every way and of course her parents adore her. One day Patty meets a German prisoner Anton. He escapes prison and she helps hide him. They are great friend and then they fall in love. Anton then runs away is shot and killed. Patty confesses to hiding him in her basement and is sent to a reform school (aka torture chamber from hell that isn't even Jewish) because her parents don't want her and she is to young to be sent to jail. And the book ends there. Now isn't that happy?

How Could You Be So Heartless?

Lets all take a moment to reflect all the evils in the world. In my book the girl is beaten by her father for no reason. I mean FOR ABSOLUTELY NO REASON AT ALL. If she even looks at something the wrong way he will just whip off his belt and really beat her. Her only escape? Going to her secret hideaway in which an escaped german prisoner is hiding. Actually she is Jewish. And the prisoner is a Nazi. How is it that a Nazi (her only friend) is so nice and sympathetic and her own JEWSIH father is so cruel? I don't understand it and actually in the book neither does he. Does anyone really understand it?
